The foundation was established to formalize and expand the philanthropic work that Dr. Tien Vo has pursued throughout his medical career. What began as informal acts of generosity — house calls to patients who could not afford clinic visits, food deliveries to families in quarantine, free health screenings for high school students — has grown into a structured organization with defined programs, measurable goals, and a clear vision for the future of community health in Imperial Valley and beyond.

The foundation is the natural extension of a career built on the principle that medicine is not merely a profession but a calling to serve. Dr. Vo has often spoken about the formative experiences that shaped this philosophy: growing up in Vietnam, arriving in the United States as a teenage refugee with no English skills, and witnessing firsthand the barriers that prevent vulnerable communities from accessing the care they need.
